Privacy Policy
This policy explains what VORTEX GP ("the game") does with information about you. The game is made by Soenic studio ("we", "us"). You can contact us at dev@soenic.com.
1. The short version
Racing offline keeps everything on your device. For online races, friends, mail and chat, the game makes an online account for you on our own server. We keep only what the game needs, we never sell it, and you can delete your account from inside the game at any time. Gems are bought through Google Play, which handles the payment; we never see your payment details.
2. What the game keeps on your device
The game saves a small file in its own private storage on your phone or tablet. It contains:
- your settings (sound, graphics, controls, HUD layout, language, the commentator and the name he calls you);
- your progress (coins, gems, experience, rider level, skills, achievements, the bikes, liveries, suits, helmets, gloves, boots and other items you own and chose);
- your race records (best lap times, races finished, wins, top speed);
- your rider name, the country you chose to show (if any) and the random id of your online account (see 3), and, if you link Google, that account's email address so the game can show which one is linked;
- the date you accepted this policy and the Terms of Service.
3. Your online account
When you accept this policy, the game makes a guest account for you on our server, without a form or password (or signs you in with Google if you choose it). The account is identified by a random id the game makes up; it is not your phone's serial number, advertising id or phone number. Later you may add your Google account (or an email address and password), so you can use the same account on another device.
The server keeps:
- Account: the random id, your rider name, the country you chose to show, and the email address (the password only as a one-way hash) or Google account id if you add them;
- Progress: your coins, gems and experience with a record of every change and its reason, your items, skills, achievements, career numbers and best laps, and a copy of your progress (as in 2, without your device settings), so they come back when you sign in on another device;
- Purchases: for gems bought on Google Play, the gem pack, Google's order number, a one-way hash of the purchase token, the gems added and whether it was a test purchase. Google tells us whether a purchase is paid; we do not receive your name, card or other payment details;
- Online races and events: the rooms and races you join, your results, lap times, points, rank and leaderboard places, your Race Pass, event and tournament progress, the mail sent to you and what you claimed, and while you race, your bike's position and speed on the track (shared with the other riders in that race);
- Social: your friends list, the players you block, whether you are online and what you are doing in the game (in the menu, in a room, racing), and reports you make or that are made about you (with the chat message reported, if any);
- Fair play: cheating checks that failed, disqualifications, strikes, bans and the appeals you send, kept for 90 days;
- Genuine game check: Google Play's answer to whether this is the genuine game installed from Google Play on a genuine device (see 6). The latest answer is kept for an hour; answers that fail the check go into the fair-play record above;
- Technical: your IP address and connection times in the server's logs, to keep the service running and safe.
4. Why we use it
Only to run the game and online play: to sign you in, keep your progress and purchases safe, match you with other riders, run races fairly (the server checks every rider's speed and lap times and that the game is genuine, to stop cheating), show results, ranks and leaderboards, deliver mail and chat, and deal with reports of abuse. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone except as described in 6.
5. Who can see what
Other players see your rider name, the country you chose to show, your bike and rider look, whether you are online and what you are doing, your position and results in races you share, your rank and leaderboard places, and the chat messages you send them. They never see your email address, Google account, purchases or IP address.
6. Where it is stored and who else is involved
Our server runs in a data centre in Jakarta, Indonesia, rented from a hosting company that stores it for us and may not use it for anything else. The connection between the game and the server is encrypted (HTTPS).
Google is involved in four ways, each under Google's own privacy policy:
- Google Play handles the download and, when you buy gems, the payment. Our server asks Google whether a purchase was paid.
- Google Play Integrity: the game asks Google Play to confirm that it is the genuine game, installed from Google Play, on a genuine device. Google's answer says whether the game is recognised and licensed, how well the device passes Google's checks, how active the device has been recently, its Android version, whether Google Play Protect found a problem, and whether apps that can capture the screen or control the device are running. Our server reads this answer to stop cheating; it does not get a list of your apps.
- Google sign-in: if you link your Google account, Google confirms the account to us and we keep its account id.
- Google Play Games: if the game signs you in to Google Play Games, we receive your Play Games player id and keep it with your account, and your achievements and leaderboard scores are sent to Google Play Games to be shown there.
7. How long we keep it
Your account data is kept until you delete your account. Chat messages are not stored: the server passes them on to players who are online at that moment and keeps no copy. Server logs are limited in size and overwritten automatically. Reports of abuse and fair-play records are deleted after 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Records of purchases may be kept as long as the law requires for payments.
8. Deleting your data
- Online account: in SETTINGS > ACCOUNT, choose DELETE ACCOUNT. Your account, progress, gems, results, friends, mail, leaderboard places and the copy of your progress are deleted from our server straight away (purchase records only as far as the law allows). The next time the game starts, it makes a new, empty guest account.
- Without the game: write to dev@soenic.com from the email address of your linked Google account, or with your rider name, and we delete the account within 30 days.
- On your device: uninstalling the game or clearing its app data deletes the file in 2. This does not delete your online account; to do that, use DELETE ACCOUNT first, or write to us.
We cannot restore deleted data, and gems in a deleted account are lost.
9. What the game does not do
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, tracking or crash reporting services.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files are used.
- No payment details: purchases go through Google Play only.
10. Phone features the game uses
- Internet: for online play, purchases and the genuine game check. Offline races work without a connection.
- Motion sensor (only if you choose TILT steering): read while you race to steer the bike. It is not stored or sent anywhere.
- Vibration (can be turned off in SETTINGS): short buzzes for kerbs, grass and crashes.
11. Children
Online play and chat are for players aged 13 or older (or the minimum age in your country). If you are younger, ask a parent or guardian before playing online or buying gems. If we learn that we hold data of a child below that age without a parent's consent, we delete it.
12. Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by writing to dev@soenic.com. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
13. Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, its version number changes and the game asks you to read and accept it again.
